More computational design from the Processing community. Although not implementing motion, this particular piece from artist and programmer, Dave Bollinger certainly places new interest in typography. As far as I’ve seen, it appears few working in this area of programming have touched upon the visual possibilities of typography, so this came as a nice surprise. I was particularly interested to learn that Ben Fry and Casey Reas who are responsible for developing the Processing language, both come from a graphic design background with a firm perspective on using Processing as a design tool. That kind of takes the nerdy edge off the general view of programming and has certainly incited many people to explore what is fast becoming a new means to the design process.
